Since I skipped out on Chocolate Mint Day earlier in the week I was happy to learn of World Thinking Day, a day sponsored by the Girl Scouts upon which scouts and Girl Guides worldwide make it a point to “‘think’ of each other and give thanks and appreciation  to their ‘sister’ Girl Scouts.”

Many people think of the Girl Scouts as a domestic organization, but it has been global for many years. The theme of World Thinking Day 2013: “Girls’ worldwide say together we can save children’s lives.”

National Engineering Week was celebrated from February 17-23 with several events nationwide and February 21 is officially designated as Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED). I didn’t settle on just how to celebrate a subject I ended up running from!

I was introduced to engineering at a young age and for many years, I plotted my educational course with the goal of becoming an engineer. I participated in many engineering activities in school and through school sponsored trips to science centers and even Disney World.

I do not have a pet, for this day I celebrate someone who loves animals, especially dogs.

This is yet another reminder why I need to rely less upon my cell phone for non phone related functions. I am reverting back to a battery operated alarm clock and my conversion is just in time for a free battery giveaway!

Day 101: My Way Day

February 20, 2013 Leave a comment

Very quick post for this day upon which you are supposed to celebrate by doing things your way.

“My Way” immediately sent my mind to music and artists who had songs bearing that title. Day 100: Innovation Day

February 20, 2013 Leave a comment

How can I be innovative today? I heard that answering this question is the point of Innovation Day. In true Celeb Nation form, I woke up on Saturday morning with an idea.

World changing? No. Life altering? For some, but that’s a matter of perspective. Possible? Absolutely!
